Bear Essentials Interiors began in 2002 with 1000 sq ft retail space in Salmon, Idaho. I had dreamed of having my own store since I was very young and Bear Essentials became this dream come true. For the last 7 years the shop has evolved and my product line has too. The Retail store has closed and the focus has changed to the Web Store entirely. Our emphasis is on Quality, Uniqueness, and the BEST Customer Service possible. It has not been easy to have a business in a small town like Salmon, Idaho. It has taken determination and desire to stay the course. Salmon is 150 miles from any large metropolitan area and not on any major routes or Interstate Systems. The town depends on tourism for survival, which tends to be mainly in the summer months during white water rafting season, even though there is skiing just 40 miles away as well as snowmobiling and cross country trails.

Bear Essentials is located North of Salmon, Idaho midway between Idaho Falls and Missoula, Montana. The area is breathtaking, which is an understatement. It's a wonderful place to visit. The views of the Bitterroot Mountains are spectacular and wildlife abound. Photographers can capture the Bald Eagles and Osprey diving for fish, or big horn sheep climbing the rock faces north of Salmon. There are bear, elk, white tail and mule deer, antelope, moose and wolf everywhere.

The Web store has custom bedding, collectable gifts, fine jewelry, all natural bath products and home interiors. Those who lean toward the Western and Lodge styles in their decor along with Santa Fe influences will love browsing what we have to offer.

Many talented local artists create metal work designs for the home, wood carved fish, and hand painted leather handbags.

Turquoise, Coral, Lapis, Sterling Silver, gemstones and Fine Silver Jewelry are available. We also carry a wonderful line of Huckleberry, jams to tickle the taste buds.

This has been a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to own my own business. When the opportunity became available, I was thrilled. I spent the majority of my adult life as a housewife and mother of three, so lost hope that my dream would ever come true. It is fun, exhausting, and stressful and I love every minute of it! My customers are the most important thing to me, and many have become friends. So I count my blessings at having met and spoken with so many wonderful people and am grateful every day for the privilege. It was a sad day when I closed the Retail Store, but am encouraged and pleased with the response I have received by Online shoppers.
